Nordeen, Tom
Former Boulder resident Tom Nordeen died May 12th in Benkelman, Nebraska. He'd been in failing health since the death of his wife two years ago. He was 63.
Tom was the son of Jess and Harold Nordeen, both deceased. He grew up in Boulder, and was a 1963 graduate of Boulder high school. He served four years in the Air Force, and went on to graduate from the University of Colorado.
He married Cecilia Ostdiek of Louisville in 1971. They had lived in California and Nevada before moving to Benkelman, Nebraska, to be close to his wife's mother. Cecilia died of cancer in 2005.
He is survived by a brother, Jerry Nordeen, of Newark; California, a sister, Luan Akin Guarini of Parker; and many much-loved members of his wife's family.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to are urged to make a donation to their local Hospice or to their favorite charity in Tom and Cecilia's names.
